MidLyfe's Crisis
from Scott Parker
Starting as the bass player that was good for a couple of lead vocals a set to give the singer a rest, Scott Parker (aka MidLyfe's Crisis) set about to create original songs and vibe from his studio in Frederick, MD, USA. Having learned the drums on the kit left in the garage for years of band practice, Scott decided to learn to play some guitar, too, in order to bring his songs to life. This morphed into a bucket list item to write, produce, record, and mix a collection of songs about life.
Learning the recording process and audio engineering was next, and Scott ultimately wrote the songs and performed practically all the instruments found on MidLyfe's Crisis' debut release "Back in the Day" in 2022. Although one bucket list item was accomplished, MidLyfe's Crisis kept going, releasing "In the Kitchen," a new single released in the fall of 22. "In the Kitchen" is an upbeat, "accidental" love song written during a bout with COVID. “In the Kitchen” reached Number 1 for two weeks on the Unsigned Artist Top 200 chart at HUGS@wrgg, and was featured on the nationally syndicated “Tony Kornheiser Show” podcast.
The follow up, “Slow Going for Lupe” was also featured on the Tony Kornheiser Show, and has been featured on radio in various countries. These two songs are featured on the EP “Managing the Decline” which was released in June of 2023. The title track from “Managing the Decline” hit the airwaves, and has been played in numerous countries, and was the third tune of MidLyfe’s Crisis to be featured on the syndicated “Tony Kornheiser Show.”
“Sixteen Hours” was released in October of 2023 and captured a cool, fun vibe, and quickly became the most popular MLC song to date with plays in 50 countries, accompanied by the first video from MLC, reaching Number 1 again on the Unsigned Artist chart at HUGS@wrgg and again featured on “The Tony Kornheiser Show”.
“Living Two Out of Seven” is the latest offering from MidLyfe’s Crisis released in 2024. Let’s see where this one goes!
Not bad for the bass player…
